On Saturday 10th April, 19 year old Lewis Dove will be running 10km to raise money for our Robinson House care home.
Wanting to show support for the carers’ hard work over the last year, he has chosen to run from his home to Robinson House and will receive a warm welcome from the team when he arrives.
Lewis first got the idea to fundraise for Brunelcare when he saw how hard his mother-in-law had been working throughout the pandemic. He wanted to show recognition for her and her team by buying them some tasty treats, and soon decided to arrange a 10km run to help him reach his goal.
Lewis Dove will be running 10k for Robinson House. With an original target of £150, Lewis has already raised an incredible £380 and hopes he can continue to raise money for the home.
Lewis said: “I want to raise money for the carers as they have been doing an amazing job, especially in the past year working through COVID-19 and doing the best that they can do under all the circumstances.
I realised that care homes do not get enough recognition for all the work they are doing. My mother in-law works at Robinson House and she means a lot to me, so I want to show my appreciation to her and all the staff working there!
For this reason I want to raise money to buy all the staff at my chosen care home treats such as chocolates, biscuits, drinks and a lot more so they know they are doing an extraordinary job and most importantly, so they know they are appreciated.”
